Your setup guide

Everything that happens between paying your setup fee and your receptionist answering calls, including how to forward your business line.

  1. Sign and pay setup

We start building only after both of these are done:

✓ Service agreement signed✓ $300 setup fee paid

Haven't done them yet? Sign the agreement and pay setup here.

  2. Send us your business details

Reply to your signed-agreement email, or text 402-853-0860, with:

    • How to greet callers: your business name as you want it said.
    • Services: what you do, what you don't, and your service area.
    • Hours: and what to tell people who call after hours.
    • Common questions: the ones callers ask most, with your answers.
    • What counts as urgent: so those leads get flagged.
    • Lead alert email: where each lead should be sent.
    • Your phone carrier: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile or other, and whether it's a cell phone, landline or business phone system.

Add On plan only: share your Google Calendar with openlinemediagroupllc@gmail.com with permission to "Make changes to events," and tell us how long appointments run and when you're available.

  3. We build and test it

We set up your receptionist with your details, connect your lead sheet and email alerts, and assign it its own phone number. Then we call it ourselves until it handles your calls the way you want.

When it's ready, we text you your receptionist number and let you know it's time to forward your calls. Don't turn on forwarding before then.

  4. Forward your business line

Your business number stays the same. You just tell your phone to send calls to your receptionist number. Pick one:

    • All calls: the receptionist answers every call. Your own phone won't ring while this is on.
    • Missed calls only: your phone rings first, and the receptionist picks up when you don't answer or you're busy.

From the phone that has your business number, dial the code for your carrier. Replace NUMBER with the 10-digit receptionist number, no dashes, then press call.

Codes can vary by carrier and plan. If one doesn't work, call your carrier and say "I want to forward my calls to this number." Carrier charges for forwarded calls, if any, are yours.

  5. Make a test call

From a different phone, call your business number. The receptionist should pick up. Give it a pretend request, then check that the lead shows up in your Google Sheet and that the alert reaches your email. If anything's off, text us and we'll fix it before you go live.

  6. Go live and first monthly payment

Once the test call works, you're live. That day we send your monthly plan link: Basic $150/month or Add On $225/month. Your first payment is due on your go-live date, and after that it's billed on the same date each month.

    • We'll let you know when you reach about 80% of your minutes. Extra minutes are $0.25 each.
    • Spam and robocalls don't count toward your minutes.
    • Your hours or services changed? Text us and we'll update your receptionist.
    • To pause, dial your carrier's turn-off code. To cancel, text or email us any time. It takes effect at the end of your billing period.
